The 2022 CIT Cook Islands $20 Real Heroes – Special Forces 3oz Silver Proof Coin is the third release in the Real Heroes series, paying tribute to the highly trained men and women who serve in military special forces units around the world.

Special forces personnel are routinely called upon to undertake some of the most challenging and dangerous missions, often operating in secrecy and with their identities carefully protected. This striking coin captures the mystery, skill and determination associated with these elite units.

Struck from 3oz of silver, the coin features an impressive black proof finish combined with dramatic ultra-high relief. The detailed design showcases a special forces soldier equipped with specialised tactical clothing, helmet, mask and protective goggles. The goggles are selectively coloured, creating a striking contrast against the dark finish of the helmet and mask.

The ultra-high-relief design extends dramatically towards the edges of the coin and is set against a distinctive honeycomb-patterned background, incorporating the Real Heroes logo. Along the rim, the traditional special forces motto “de oppresso liber” is presented in intricate micro-minting.

The obverse continues the military theme, depicting special forces personnel being deployed under the cover of night, reflecting the covert nature of many of their missions. The design is accompanied by the powerful motto “Only the brave are free.”

With a strictly limited mintage of just 750 coins worldwide, this impressive release is an exceptionally distinctive addition to the Real Heroes series.

Issued as $20 legal tender of the Cook Islands, the coin combines black proof finishing, selective colour and exceptional ultra-high relief to create a powerful tribute to those who serve in some of the world’s most demanding military roles.

A bold and highly detailed collectible, the Real Heroes – Special Forces coin is sure to appeal to collectors of military-themed coins, ultra-high-relief silver and limited-mintage releases.
