The Perth Mint 2016 Australian Kookaburra 1oz Silver Coin is part of The Perth Mint’s iconic Kookaburra series, first introduced in 1990. Known for its changing annual designs, the series is popular with both silver bullion buyers and collectors.

The reverse features a kookaburra perched on a tree trunk, alongside the inscriptions ‘AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA’, the year of issue, weight and silver purity. Each annual release showcases a different artistic interpretation of this much-loved native Australian bird.

The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the coin’s monetary denomination of $1. Struck from 1 Troy oz of .999 fine silver, the coin is Australian legal tender.

As a previous-year release, the 2016 Kookaburra is no longer available directly from The Perth Mint. Its distinctive annual design and limited mintage make it an appealing addition to an Australian Kookaburra collection.

Please Note: These are buy-back coins that have been previously owned but are in excellent condition. Each coin is supplied in a protective acrylic capsule. Minor signs of handling may be present.
