The Perth Mint 2027 Year of the Goat 1/2oz Silver Bullion Coin celebrates the eighth animal in the Chinese lunar zodiac and continues The Perth Mint’s popular Australian Lunar Series.

Struck from 1/2 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver, the reverse features a mature goat, young goat and baby goat peacefully grazing beneath a plum blossom tree. The design represents the auspicious concept “Three Goats Bring Bliss”, symbolising the transition from winter to spring, renewal and prosperous new beginnings. The Chinese character for ‘Goat’, the inscription GOAT 2027 and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark also feature in the design.

In Chinese tradition, people born under the sign of the Goat are associated with qualities such as gentleness, creativity and compassion, while also being admired for their calm nature and resilience.

The 1/2oz coin is issued as Australian legal tender and forms part of The Perth Mint’s 2027 Lunar Year of the Goat bullion range. No mintage limit applies to the 1/2oz release, with production scheduled to close at the end of 2027, after which The Perth Mint will declare the official mintage.
