The Perth Mint 2024 Australian Quokka 1oz Silver Bullion Coin celebrates one of Australia’s most recognisable and beloved native animals. Following the sell-out of previous Australian Quokka bullion releases, this 2024 edition features a delightful new design honouring the iconic Western Australian marsupial.

Struck from 1 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver, the reverse portrays a happy family of quokkas in a beachside setting, complete with a lighthouse and vegetation representing their natural home on Rottnest Island, Western Australia. The design includes the inscription ‘QUOKKA’, the 2024 year-date and a special ‘P125’ mintmark, commemorating The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary.

Known for their friendly nature and distinctive smiling appearance, quokkas have become popular with visitors to Western Australia and are often affectionately described as some of the happiest-looking animals in the world.

The obverse features the Dan Thorne effigy of King Charles III, along with the coin’s monetary denomination. An additional authentication feature is incorporated into the reverse design in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter, visible only under magnification.

Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin has a limited mintage of 30,000 worldwide and is presented in a protective acrylic capsule.
